Answers to what people actually ask. If yours is not here, write — the address is at the bottom, and a person reads it.

I press the key and hear nothing.
Check the volume first. The tone is deliberately audible with the ringer switch off — a trainer silenced by a hardware toggle is broken — so if the volume is up and there is still nothing, the phone is probably connected to something over Bluetooth. Bluetooth also adds a delay long enough to matter at these speeds; the built-in speaker or wired headphones are better for keying.
My dahs come out as dits.
Hold longer. The key always listens at ten words a minute whatever speed you are being sent at, because the dit/dah line at twenty words a minute is a tenth of a second — inside the range of an ordinary tap on glass. At ten, a dah is a comfortable quarter-second hold.
The card is fading and I cannot read it.
That is the app working, not breaking. A character fades once you can hear it, and it comes back if you start missing it — the empty board is your progress. It only ever fades while you are receiving, never while you send. If you would rather it stayed printed, turn off Let the card fade in Settings; you are still tracked, and the bars below that switch still show it.
What is MorseHero Pro?
One payment, not a subscription. Free gives you the card in both directions and the first eight characters — far enough to watch them fade off the board. Pro adds the other thirty-eight, including the numbers and punctuation; every drill above single characters, from words up to a two-way contact you take part in; the word-spacing ladder; and the report on how you send.
I bought Pro and it is still locked.
Open the shop and tap Restore a previous purchase. If it stays locked, check that the device is signed in to the same Apple Account that bought it. Pro is not Family Shareable: it unlocks on the account that paid, on every device signed in to that account.
It will not decode my radio.
RX needs to hear a reasonably clean tone. Bring the phone closer to the speaker, and turn any noise reduction on the receiver off rather than up — it can chew the very tone the app is listening for. The app works the sender's speed out for itself, so there is nothing to set.
Can I practise with my own text?
Yes. Settings → Your own text, and paste in whatever you like, up to four thousand characters. Line breaks are sent as word gaps, letters go out as capitals, and anything Morse has no code for is skipped rather than guessed at.
Does the drill keep going with the screen locked?
Yes, and that is deliberate — listening with the phone in a pocket is when most people actually practise. Training keeps sending and scoring with the screen off. Listening on the microphone does not: it stands the microphone down when the app goes away.
Does it need the internet?
No. The app works entirely offline and makes no network request of its own. A connection is needed only to buy or restore a purchase, because that is Apple's server, not ours.
Which languages does it speak?
English, German, French, Spanish, Italian, Brazilian Portuguese, Japanese, Korean, Greek, Ukrainian and Russian.

Reporting a problem

Tell me what you did, what happened, and what you expected instead. The app version is at the bottom of Settings; your device model and iOS version help too. If it is about the key or the decoder, the speed you were working at is usually the detail that explains it.

This is a small app maintained by one person. Replies are not instant, but every message is read.
