MorseHero

Privacy Policy

Last updated 9 September 2026. Applies to the MorseHero iOS app and this website.

MorseHero collects nothing. There is no analytics SDK, no crash reporter, no advertising, no tracking, and no account. The app makes no network request of its own — the only server it ever talks to is Apple's App Store, and only when you buy or restore something. The microphone is measured for a tone and discarded. Audio is never recorded, never written to disk, and never leaves the phone.

What stays on your device

Everything. Specifically:

  • Your practice record — which characters you have met, how often you got each one right, and how fast you were copying in each session
  • Which characters you tend to confuse with which, so the drill can come back to them
  • Your settings — speed, spacing, sidetone pitch, whether the card fades, whether a daily reminder is on
  • Any text you paste in to practise with

None of it is uploaded anywhere. It lives in the app's own container, and deleting the app deletes all of it. The daily reminder, if you turn it on, is a local notification scheduled by your phone; no server is involved and nothing is sent.

Purchases

MorseHero Pro is a single one-time purchase, handled entirely by Apple. We never see your payment details, your Apple Account, or your name. The app asks Apple what you own and stores the answer on the device, so what you bought keeps working offline.

MorseHero Pro is not Family Shareable: it unlocks on the Apple Account that bought it, on every device signed in to that account. Restoring a purchase asks Apple whether that account owns it and learns nothing else.

Children

The app is rated 4+ and collects no personal information from anyone, of any age. There is no chat, no shared content, no social feature, no web browser and no advertising. Text you paste in to practise with stays on that device.

Required-reason APIs

Apple requires apps to declare certain APIs and why they are used. MorseHero declares three: UserDefaults under CA92.1, for your own settings on your own device; system boot time under 35F9.1, because the telegraph key is timed against the monotonic clock rather than the wall clock; and file timestamps under C617.1, for the practice record the app wrote itself inside its own container. The declaration ships in the app as PrivacyInfo.xcprivacy, and its collected-data list is empty.

These pages are static files served by GitHub Pages. They set no cookies, embed no scripts, load no fonts or images from anywhere else, and run no analytics. GitHub may log requests to its servers as part of operating the service; see GitHub's privacy statement.

Changes

If this policy ever changes, the date at the top changes with it. A change that reduced your privacy would come with a new version of the app, and would be described in that version's release notes.
